About The Role As a Railway Operative you will maintain, inspect and repair the track network (Permanent Way) – a manual, outdoor role requiring you to work with rails, sleepers, ballast and ancillary structures. Perform track inspections and fault fixing. Carry out maintenance and renewal tasks as per standard procedures. Operate tools and equipment safely while maintaining a close-knit team. Follow shift patterns, including days, nights, weekends and on-call duties. Skills & Experience Experience in track maintenance, engineering or relevant technical field. Basic technical knowledge of rail disciplines; NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is advantageous. Strong teamwork, communication and problem‑solving skills. Calm under pressure and able to work outdoors in all weather. Driving licence (category B). Willingness to undergo drug & alcohol testing, medical assessment and security checks.
