Role Description As a Manufacturing Estimator, you’ll play a key role in developing accurate, competitive cost estimates for a wide range of aerospace components and assemblies. You’ll work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure every project is scoped correctly, costed accurately, and delivered profitably. It’s a busy role that requires excellent attention to detail and a passion for aerospace engineering. Benefits Salary sacrifice pension Critical illness cover Death in service cover Time and a Half overtime Early finish on Fridays 33 days holidays per year Opportunity for progression On-site parking Key Responsibilities Develop and prepare accurate cost estimates for aerospace components, assemblies, and full systems based on engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Accurately estimate labour hours and material costs, including tooling required for manufacturing components to customer’s requirements. Analyse tender documents and identify key commercial and technical requirements in line with aerospace standards. Work closely with engineering, procurement, and production teams to gather cost and timing data, materials and AGS prices. Identify key processes required for component manufacture, and highlight areas of risk. Work through BOM/Parts lists to quote assemblies. Support the creation of bid and proposal documentation in line with customer timelines. Work closely with the Key Account Managers (KAM) to establish pricing strategies and ensure profitability, liaising with customer as determined by the KAM and Commercial Director. Identify cost‑saving opportunities and assess risks related to labour, materials, and subcontracting. Maintain and update estimating tools, cost databases, and historical pricing information. Participate in customer calls and meetings and clarify scope and pricing assumptions when required. Support post‑bid reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar estimating or costing role within an aerospace, automotive, defence, or complex manufacturing environment. Proficient with CAD drawings and estimating software. Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. Ability to understand the methods required to produce components. Strong understanding of production processes, materials, and machining/fabrication methods. Analytical mindset with high attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
