About the location Set in the heart of the city, overlooking Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, our five‑star hotel is a grade II listed building and former HQ of the Port of London Authority. It contains 100 rooms, 41 residential apartments (31 units in the FS run transient rental program), a ballroom, five meeting rooms, a destination spa with eight treatment rooms, hammam, steam, sauna, swimming and vitality pool, and a food and beverage offering including Mei Ume (Chinese/Japanese cuisine) and Rotunda (all‑day dining, afternoon tea & bar). What You Will Do Implement and manage preventative maintenance of all equipment and update maintenance logs. Diagnose and repair equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers, and associated systems throughout the building. Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests in rooms and public areas. Be familiar with and respond to emergency procedures such as fires and power failures. Clean engineering stations, grease traps, and plumbing stoppages while maintaining an organized department. Install or relocate equipment as needed. Support energy conservation programs within the hotel. Install electrical and mechanical systems for renovations and exhibits, and maintain those setups. The Ideal Shift Engineer Will Have Previous experience in this role within a five‑star luxury environment. Technical knowledge and expertise to provide electrical and general repair and maintenance to motors, starters, breakers and associated equipment throughout the hotel. Awareness of safe working practices. Ability to work as part of a dedicated and passionate team. Strong communication skills with a good level of written and spoken English. Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours. Schedule and Hours This position operates on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, with each shift lasting 12 hours.
