Job role: Residential Senior Supervisor Service: Heathside & Heathside Mews, Penketh, Warrington, WA5 2EY Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week Salary: £13.78 per hour About Heathside & The Mews We support older people and people with dementia in our residential homes, Heathside and The Mews, either as a permanent new home or for short respite breaks. Heathside is our 37‑bedroom residential home with a cozy and homely feel, and The Mews is our 25‑bed home with a light, modern airy feel. Heathside and The Mews are just next door to one another and collaborate on many fun activities and outings, but each offers a different living experience to the residents. Our approach is entirely built around the people we support, and we don't believe in one‑size‑fits‑all. Everyone we support is different, so we take the time to get to know them and create a bespoke support plan and personalise everything – even down to how they like their morning routine. Job Summary To take responsibility, under the Service Manager to meet the needs of the People we Support promoting an environment, which provides the People we Support with specialised personal care achieved through a process of individual consultation, whilst ensuring own capabilities are maintained through development and learning. Refer a Friend £200 – if you refer a friend to come and work for WCL and they are successful, you will receive a £200 bonus. Christmas Enhancement (Double Time) – allocated Christmas hours worked will be rewarded with double‑time pay. Ongoing investment in new technology – including care plan and rota apps, with full training provided Shifts available across a range of services; made available through our online rota system. This could be same day shifts or in the future. Book shifts that fit with your availability, days, nights, weekdays, weeknights, weekends. Job Description Job Title: Residential Senior Supervisor Responsible to: Service Manager Responsible for: All service colleagues when on duty Leadership Provide leadership and effective performance management. Support development of the service and performance improvement. Understand and support delivery of the Service Development Plan. Lead colleagues through required changes. Colleagues Support induction, retention and development of staff. Support identification of appropriate staffing and skill mix. Ensure effective supervision systems are in place. Provide supervision and leadership development. Ensure strong communication across the team. Business Follow WCL financial procedures. Support achievement of income and occupancy targets. Support contract compliance. The People We Support Contribute to a caring, safe, guideline‑compliant environment. Maintain high care standards including care planning and medicines management. Seek and communicate views of people supported and visitors. Support complaints handling and quality monitoring. Assist with simple meal support duties. Maintain hygienic food preparation and dining areas. Encourage involvement in food‑related activities. Maintain positive relationships with families and external agencies. Implement safeguarding procedures. Safeguarding Complete SVA and MCA training and follow procedures. Health and Safety Follow H&S legislation and organisational policy. Support environmental safety. Complete Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness training. Data Protection Maintain confidentiality in line with legislation and WCL standards. Person Specification Experience Evidence of professional development motivation. Willingness to learn. Experience in care, support or residential environments. Experience supporting teams or supervising colleagues. Technical Skills Ability to handle basic numerical data. Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook). Personal Qualities Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to listen sensitively. Ability to plan, organise and prioritise. Understanding of fairness and diversity. Understanding of safeguarding principles. Positive values relating to disability, older people, dementia and mental health. Ability to work flexibly and supportively within a team. What are we looking for Team Leader experience. 2 years experience working in care. A level 2 qualification or significant experience. An effective leader that can demonstrate the values of the organisation at all times. Ability to lead a shift and supervise other colleagues. Someone who is flexible and adaptable.
