Transport Planner – Birmingham
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 (DOE) + Excellent Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Planner to join a respected consultancy in their growing Birmingham office. This is a fantastic role for someone looking to take the next step in their career, working on a diverse range of transport planning and infrastructure projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans, including coordination and monitoring.
Carry out junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG.
Produce and present technical drawings, written reports, and supporting documentation.
Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and local or national authorities.
Ensure that all project work is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high technical standard.
Review and check the quality and accuracy of work prepared by junior team members.
Support and mentor junior colleagues, helping to develop their technical skills and confidence.
Assist Team Leaders in providing highways and transport advice from early feasibility through to detailed design.
Undertake site visits, design and manage surveys, and contribute to the preparation of presentations and reports.
Maintain up-to-date records and project documentation.
Play an active role in developing and expanding the Birmingham office and its presence in the region.About You:
Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
2–5 years’ experience in UK Transport Planning and an understanding of relevant guidance and standards.
MCIHT membership (or working towards) desirable.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
Practical experience using ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG.
Familiarity with AutoCAD is advantageous.Benefits:
