# **Our Privacy Statement & Cookie Policy** is seeking scientists with a passion for solving problems using state-of-the-art machine learning, natural language processing and generative AI.**About the Role:** Applied Scientists are experts in NLP and Machine Learning, responsible for the design and delivery of AI solutions that enhance Thomson Reuters' products. They leverage model training and evaluation design, graph-based AI, and information retrieval techniques, and prompting workflows, to build and optimize solutions. Their work ensures AI technologies are effectively aligned with business objectives, driving product innovation and value. As an Applied Scientist, you will: * Work as part of a team to develop and deploy live production systems.* Independently determine appropriate data and modelling choices.* Operate in an agile way using quick iterations guided by customers’ needs.* Provide input on project objectives and goals.* Communicate effectively with stakeholders.* Partner with Engineering to ensure well-managed software delivery.* Be an NLP expert with experience in the end-to-end AI development life cycle.**About You:** You’re a fit for the role of Applied Scientist if your background includes: * PhD in a relevant discipline or Master’s plus a comparable level of experience* 3+ years of hands-on industry experience building NLP / ML / Knowledge Graph / GenAI systems for commercial applications* Practical experience with traditional and state-of-the-art NLP methods, Knowledge Graph algorithms, and GenAI (including RAG and agentic frameworks)* Experience writing production code* Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and analysis skills* Excellent coding skills in Python* Proficiency with Git, AWS, Azure for remote model development and deployment* **Culture:** Globally recognized, award-winning reputation for inclusion and belonging, flexibility, work-life balance, and more.
