Job Description

Overall operational accountability for the management of Great Bear Sheffield site alongside support the Regional General Manager.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week

Key Duties of a General Manager:

Responsible for overseeing the management of GB Operations at Sheffield plus potential to support other locations in RGM area.
Responsible for the efficient and successful running of the depot operations including financial management, performance management and health, safety & welfare.
Provide strong visible leadership to depot manager and key stakeholders in order to ultimately manage all staff through performance, management and training.
Deliver service levels that exceeds contractual agreement in effort to delight our customers.
Regularly review depot and business, along with customers’ expectations against targets achieved. Constantly review, communicate and improve performance, both back to the business and customer.
Accountable for warehouse cost budgets, controlling cost and contributing to budgeting for future periods.
Leadership of all aspects of Health & Safety compliance.
Act as a champion to all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across the workforce.
Effectively communicate across all departments and sites, actively involving the workforce through regular reviews and management meetings and head office reporting.
Overall responsibility for maintaining a high standard of repair and maintenance of the fabric of buildings and all equipment through the development and implementation of site improvement plans.

Qualifications

Must possess the leadership qualities to enable them to manage all aspects of a busy FMCG warehouse.
Good working knowledge of the sector and relevant operational practices.
Able to bring about maximised depot financial performance.
An effective communicator at all levels with the personal motivation and confidence to have a positive impact within Great Bear as well as with clients.                                                                             
Significant experience of developing management teams within a similar complex logistics operation would be desirable.
Professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
Confident Manager, skilled at setting clear objectives and motivating their team to achieve them.
Highly tolerant of change, being able to work with an evolving organisation.
Able to thrive in a highly competitive and demanding environment.
Commercially focussed and driven by profitability.
Quality orientated and customer service driven.
