Job Title Airplay Worker Location RAF Leeming Contract Type 6 Hours Per Week and 2 hours BEN club (term time only) Salary £12.60 per hour Job Purpose This role will contribute to the successful delivery of the RAF Benevolent Fund’s Airplay project on RAF Leeming including AirplayConnect. The role will support the Station Youth Workers primarily in the delivery of BEN Clubs (children’s) and occasionally Airplay youth sessions on RAF Leeming station. The Airplay project works with children and young people from the age of 5-18 years old. BEN Clubs work with children aged 5-7 years and Airplay youth sessions work with young people aged 8-18 years. AirplayConnect is a digital platform providing play and youth work activities, resources and opportunities for young people aged 5-18 to connect wherever they are living in the world. Duties Primarily to support the Station Youth Worker with the delivery of the Airplay youth sessions and occasional BEN Club Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of play and youth work activities and a programme of imaginative activities that encourage the active participation of young people from the RAF community in line with the Airplay and Ben Clubs Offer. Work as part of a team to deliver youth and Play Work sessions as part of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund’s Airplay Youth Support Service. Delivering flexible, high‑quality activities that meet the needs of the young people aged 5-18 years, and their families. Assist in promoting opportunities for youth participation by involving young people in the decision‑making processes. Maintain effective working relationships and channels of communications with colleagues, children, young people and families. Be fully involved in all activities associated with the Airplay provision, primarily BEN Club, and promote good practice in a professional and inclusive manner. Attend appropriate meetings related to youth and play work activities internally and with partner organisations. Support the Station Youth Worker in compiling regular reports to monitor progress. Play an active part in the induction, supervision and appraisal processes and in identifying training and development needs. Follow safeguarding policies and guidelines and record and report concerns using the correct procedure. Assist with ensuring activities are delivered safely ensuring up to date awareness of risk assessments and health and safety. Assist in ensuring the delivery space is safe for children, young people and staff, concerns are reported, and the staff team are proactive in minimising risk.
