OverviewElectrical Design Engineer role at South East Water UK.Are you a curious and experienced Electrical Engineer looking for a role with real purpose? You'll be involved in all stages of our capital engineering projects, from initial idea through to commissioning, playing a vital role in providing an essential service. Flexible/hybrid working (office/home) is offered, with travel to locations or sites within South East Water’s supply areas as required for pre-construction and construction phase elements such as scoping or Contractor progress/design review meetings, defect reviews, etc. Responsibilities Development of technical solutions and coordinating work with multi-disciplinary teams (Process, Civil and Mechanical). Production of technical reports and the ability to work independently and as a team member to carry out checking, reviews and approval of complex electrical detailed designs, including calculations, specifications, reports and drawings. Analysis of options and selection of technical solutions as appropriate. Ensuring contractors' designs comply with the latest company specifications and other relevant industry specifications (WIMES, IET wiring regulations, etc.) and legislations. Development of outline scheme designs. Assistance in preparation of scheme programmes, estimates and tender documentation. Requirements / Skills HNC or a Degree in Engineering or equivalent training in the relevant area. Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with the IET. Extensive experience in water utilities would be advantageous. Ability to work closely with others and know when to refer to others. Good technical report writing, editorial skills, and oral communication. Detailed knowledge of PLC systems, HMIs, Variable Speed Drives, Harmonic filtration, data networks, telemetry systems and standby generator systems. Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office; knowledge of Google Workspace beneficial.
