Assistant Manager, Restructuring
Job Overview Alongside colleagues in the London Restructuring team, you will provide insolvency and contingency planning advice to a range of businesses, from large, complex situations often involving multi‑jurisdictional advice to small‑to‑medium‑size companies, including director‑owned businesses. The team delivers stakeholder advisory work linked to distressed business advice – independent business reviews, cash‑flow management, accelerated M&A processes, and restructuring support using insolvency procedures. The team is not aligned to specific sectors, but expertise in particular areas is welcomed. Expect to work across all sectors and, where possible, assignments will be resourced to suit your base location. However, the unpredictable nature of our work will mean some travel (and possibly international work) will be required. The role involves working across a range of assignment types in dynamic, flexible, fast‑moving environments. Key Accountabilities Work in engagement teams of 3 to 6 people, supporting senior team members on a range of product types. Build strong, trusted adviser relationships with senior management, mid‑level executives and other key stakeholders (including lawyers and bank contacts). Manage engagements and projects to scope, risk, time, quality and budget guidelines, complying with Interpath's engagement management practices. On certain relevant assignments, serve as the main client contact, reporting back to engagement leaders and other senior staff. Undertake detailed analysis to present robust advice to client teams. Appraise challenging and fast‑developing situations, develop innovative solutions, and assess options for businesses and their stakeholders, which may involve consideration of formal insolvency processes. Pursue potential involvement in business development activities. Develop junior staff on assignments. Requirements Qualified Chartered Accountant or background in the Restructuring profession. Corporate insolvency experience beneficial; ideally an insolvency licence, CPI/JIEB qualification or intention to commence one or both. Demonstrable experience in managing own work streams within the Restructuring and Insolvency space. Strong commercial and business acumen. Ability to work innovatively and self‑start, while effectively delegating to teams of colleagues. Desire to build wide insolvency skillsets and develop knowledge across all Restructuring offerings. Excellent communication skills across operational and financial staff at all levels, often in challenging circumstances. Willingness to embrace work across all sectors and potentially undertake some travel. Positive team influence and achievements beyond project work, including mentoring junior team members. Drive and enthusiasm. Benefits At Interpath, our people lie at the heart of our business. We provide a competitive and comprehensive reward package including compelling salaries and a range of core and optional benefits.
