The Role The Financial Controller will be commercially astute and strategically minded, supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans by providing strong financial leadership and ensuring sound financial governance. Operating within a fast‑paced, high‑growth professional services environment in the tech sector, the role requires a proactive approach to managing financial operations and delivering insightful analysis to inform strategic decision‑making. This role requires an established FC with the ambition and ability to grow in their role alongside business growth. Working closely with the CFO, Finance team and senior leadership team, the Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including end‑to‑end elements of cash and working capital management, and driving compliance in day‑to‑day finance operations. The role will also play a key part in scaling the finance function, implementing systems and processes that support sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operations of the finance function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as required as the business evolves. Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements, including liaison with external auditors and HMRC. Implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to support successful delivery of the strategic business plan and mitigate risk. Partner with department heads and senior leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision‑making. Deliver cash flow management and working capital optimisation. Work collaboratively to implement and optimise financial systems and tools to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities. Manage and develop a high‑performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Skills and Attributes Required Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within a high‑growth, fast‑paced environment in the tech or professional services sector. Strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience in relevant UK accounting legislation. Demonstrated ability to implement and improve financial systems, processes, and controls to support a business in achieving strategic goals. Commercially minded with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, and an ability to contribute to wider business success. Proficient in working capital and cashflow modelling. Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a collaborative and hands‑on approach. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Comfortable working in a growth environment and developing your knowledge and skills to adapt to change. Advanced Excel skills, and experience with cloud‑based accounting systems – preferably Business Central, but otherwise demonstrable experience of adapting to new systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
