The successful candidate will play an integral role withinthe team in ensuring that the food is prepared, delivered and the department iscleaned to the highest standard. Previous catering and barista trained isdesirable for this postSuccessful post holders will be responsible for theprovision of catering services within all areas of Catering, and to ensure thatareas are safe and hygienic at all times. All staff would be part of a team andhave the ability to use a degree of initiative to prioritize and organise thedaily duties, whilst maintaining a professional approach at all times regardlessof the situation. Post holders will be also be expected to be flexible to theneeds of the service.The successful applicant will have :Previous catering experience in a fast paced environmentSound knowledge of food hygiene regulationsExcellent communication and customer care skillsLevel 2 Certificate in Food HygieneMain duties of the jobService DeliveryTo work under the direction of the Retail ServicesSupervisor/Manager and assist in the preparation of nutritious and appetizingmeals and snacks for staff and visitors, according to planned menu usingspecified recipes, methods and systems for cook chill catering to the highest possible standardsnutritional, temperature, quality, presentation, hygiene and safety andallergen regulationsTo be involved in the preparation of all retail and buffetproducts, adhering strictly to standard recipes, methods and productionplanning adhered to.Ensure high standards of food quality from point ofpurchase to meal preparation, cooking and service, ensuring quality controlprocess throughout.To operate the electronic tills and the handling of cashTo work within the coffee shop outlet after full trainingwith the barista style machinesTo assist in temperature monitoring and recording of allproduced meals/foodstuffs and food storage equipment in accordance withstandards as laid down in the Catering Departments Policies and Procedures andHazard Analysis Critical Control Points(HACCP)Assist with receipt, quality assurance andstock control of goodsAbout usSCL is a wholly owned subsidiary of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT) set up to deliver a range of non-clinical services The company is a separate legal body to CDDFT.SCL offers its own Terms and Conditions of employment which differ to the national NHS Terms and Conditions.
