Senior Project Engineer

Aberdeen, United Kingdom Insignis Full time

You'll join a forward-thinking subsea engineering team where your expertise genuinely shapes how projects are delivered. Instead of being pulled between the deck and the office, you'll finally have the space to focus on high-value engineering, smarter solutions, and driving best practice across full lifecycle subsea projects.

What This Role Gives You

Minimal offshore travel - enjoy the technical challenge of subsea work without the constant rotation.
Ownership of exciting, varied project scopes across installation, IMR, decommissioning and more.
A supportive, engaged team that values engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
A senior position where your voice matters - mentoring more junior team members and sharing your expertise
Hybrid working for better balance and more control over your time.
Clear long-term growth prospects as the organisation continues to expand.

What You'll Be Doing Day to Day

You'll play a hands-on role across engineering delivery, including:

Leading the technical scope of assigned subsea projects.
Creating method statements, FEED studies, and high-quality engineering documentation.
Performing installation analysis, calculations, and optimised deck layouts.
Supporting fabrication design and the development of subsea equipment & tooling.
Providing expert input into tenders, technical evaluations, and client-facing discussions.
Capturing lessons learned and driving improvements across the engineering process.
Being a key point of technical knowledge for project teams without needing to mobilise offshore.
Championing safety and quality in all engineering decisions.

What You Bring

A degree in Subsea, Marine/Naval, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Previous project experience working on subsea EPC type diving / IRM / survey projects
Strong technical background in subsea, offshore operations, or project engineering.
A proactive mindset with excellent problem-solving and analytical ability.
Confident communication skills and the ability to produce clear, structured engineering documentation.
Practical experience with engineering standards, regulations, and operational requirements.

Why This Role Stands Out

This is the ideal step for someone who wants to progress into a senior engineering position without sacrificing work-life balance. You'll tackle technically interesting subsea challenges, shape how projects are delivered, and contribute directly to an organisation that values innovation, autonomy, and expertise.

If you're ready to move into a senior role where your engineering skill is recognised, supported, and genuinely makes an impact - this is your next move
