Placement Student

As an intern you will be responsible for a variety of projects each day. Typical tasks include: Design of brochures, product literature, in‑house magazine, mailshots, etc. Compiling and maintaining project and budget tracking systems. Web page design – Internet/Intranet. Raising requisitions for payment of goods. Developing promotional and merchandising ideas. Supporting the planning and execution of trade shows and participating in these shows. Conducting competitor/customer/market research and analysis. Managing literature and distribution. Running an information hotline support. Assisting sales/specification teams and supporting product launches. Providing general clerical support to the Marketing Department. Throughout the year you will be given opportunities to increase responsibility and autonomy to maximize your placement experience. We are looking for an individual who has: Creativity and a willingness to be part of a dynamic team. A passion for making a difference in a short time. A proactive "can‑do" attitude and resilience to overcome disappointment. General computer skills, including Excel and Word. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign / Photoshop / Illustrator / Freehand / Quark Xpress is desirable. Organisational skills and a good telephone manner. A full driving licence would be beneficial (not essential). Undergraduate status, ideally studying Marketing or a Business‑related degree. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level of initiative. Problem‑solving ability, calm and effective. Project management skills and flexibility to respond to change. A professional attitude and willingness to learn and take initiative. Location details This role is based in our offices near the Eastleigh town centre: Prysmian Cables & Systems Limited, Chickenhall Lane, Eastleigh, SO50 6YU. The site has good transport links and is a 15‑minute walk from the railway station. Free car parking is available next to the office.
