Our goal is to develop an internal AWM platform that makes data discoverable, trusted, and available at scale to support both business growth and the evolving use of AI/ML. Role Overview As part of the Product Team for the Data Platform, you will be at the forefront of driving the development and adoption of a decentralized data architecture within the organization. This role, which is key to enable our data is AVAILABLE, requires a strategic thinker who can translate the vision of empowering domain teams as data producers into actionable product features and enhancements. You will ensure the platform remains flexible and adaptable, while continuously gathering user feedback to refine the onboarding experience and streamline operations. Partnering with and leading the implementation lead will be key to this role, whilst managing a close relationship with the Data Engineering Product lead. Key Objectives Product Vision for Decentralization: Support the Product Owner in defining and executing a product vision for a decentralized data architecture that empowers domain teams to act as data producers of best‑in‑class data offerings and in addition ensure that the strategic needs of consumers are delivered. Self‑Serve Infrastructure Development: Deliver the development of a self‑serve infrastructure that enables the publication of data products with integrated standards for quality, access, and governance. Federated Governance Integration: Ensure the integration of federated governance to maintain consistency, compliance, and interoperability at scale. Responsibilities Product Vision and Roadmap: Assist in developing and communicating a clear product vision and roadmap for the platform that will support the data mesh paradigm, aligning it with organizational goals and user needs. Platform Agnosticism: Ensure the platform remains adaptable to various technologies and tools, supporting a wide range of user requirements. User Feedback and Iteration: Establish processes to gather and analyze feedback from key users via the Mesh Onboarding team, using insights to drive product iterations and enhancements. Operational Efficiency: Identify and prioritize product features that reduce operational toil and accelerate platform adoption, improving overall user experience. Collaboration with Domain Teams: Work closely with domain teams to understand their needs and ensure the platform supports their role as data producers – and use that interaction to help inform an appropriate domain/sub‑domain structure. Governance and Compliance: Collaborate with governance teams to integrate federated governance practices into the platform, ensuring data consistency and compliance. Training and Support Materials: Develop and oversee the creation of training materials and support resources to facilitate effective platform use. Product Metrics and Reporting: Define and track product metrics to measure success and provide insights to stakeholders on platform adoption and performance. Qualifications Experience in managing and implementing data architecture programs as a consultant or within industry. Knowledge of Product Ownership practice and a track record in managing delivery across multiple stakeholders. About Us J.P.
