1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Shaping the future of SEND and Alternative Provision across the East Riding Full-time / 2 Year Fixed-term (with progression into Turning Point School) Leadership scale L7-12 (commensurate with experience) An opportunity to lead system-wide change Turning Point Outreach is launching as part of the East Riding of Yorkshire’s SEND and Alternative Provision strategy, ahead of the opening of the Turning Point Alternative Provision School. We are seeking experienced, credible SEND leaders to join our founding outreach team; practitioners who can work confidently alongside Trust Leaders, Headteachers, SENCOs and senior leaders, and who are motivated by impact, inclusion and relational practice. This is not a traditional outreach role. It is an opportunity to shape practice, influence systems, and support the most vulnerable children across the locality. Turning Point Outreach operates across two interlinked strands: Student Outreach: providing intensive, child-centred support for pupils at risk of exclusion or reintegrating following permanent exclusion Systemic Outreach: working with schools to strengthen SEND practice through coaching, CPD and system development, building long‑term internal capacity. This outreach work forms the foundation of the Turning Point School, with successful candidates progressing into future roles within the in‑reach provision as the school opens. The roles Turning Point Systemic Outreach Practitioner As a Turning Point Outreach Practitioner, you will: Work directly with schools to support pupils with complex SEMH and SEND needs Lead holistic assessments and co‑produce practical, achievable support plans Coach and support staff through modelling, reflection and problem‑solving Work alongside senior leaders to refine inclusive systems and approaches Contribute to the development of the Turning Point Outreach Charter and model Be part of a small, high‑trust team shaping a new AP offer from the ground up You will be trusted to use your professional judgement, supported by experienced Trust leaders, and given the space to do this work properly. Who we’re looking for This role is ideally suited to someone who: Is an experienced SEND leader, SENCO, AP leader or specialist teacher Has strong credibility working with Trust leaders, Headteachers, SLT & Local Authority partners Understands SEMH, trauma‑informed practice and relational approaches Can balance challenge and support with professionalism and compassion Is system‑minded, able to see beyond individual cases to patterns and solutions Wants to influence practice at scale, not just within one school Leadership experience is essential. This is not an early‑career role.
