There is opportunity to grow and move internally which can be seen through our long-standing employees who have developed existing and new skills to move into senior positions in the organisation leaving space for new team members to begin their journey.Your Future Starts HereWhy Bytes?Over 800 staff (plans to double in size over the next 5 years)Operating from modern, hybrid working environments with offices in Leatherhead, Reading, London, Manchester, Port Solent and Dublin.Winners of an array of industry awardsSunday Times Top 100 Best Places to WorkExcellent training and career prospects offeredFantastic office with gym, canteen, open plan, smart casual dress code, regular incentives and company eventsSupporters of 85+ charities with strong commitment to diversity and sustainability Purpose of JobUtilising Bytes’ standard Project Management methodology and toolsets, provide professional project management services supporting the delivery of IT-related services.Delivery resources may be internal human resources, software applications and/or external specialist contractors.For Managed Services, focus is on-time and expedited delivery of the project through MOBILISATION and TRANSITION phases with a view to handing over to Service Delivery Leads for BAU phase delivery although for more complex projects, the Project Manager may well also deliver BAU.Ownership of project timeline, reporting and effective management of risks & issues are key.Key ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for the delivery of projects and customer engagements for Bytes.Day-to-day running of multiple projects throughout their entire life cycle.Business analysis and scoping of project engagements, including facilitation of workshops and documentation of customer requirements.Management of project plans, scope, timescales and budgets.Management and coordination of project resources from within Bytes, customers, delivery partners and vendors. Individual ResponsibilitiesScope and plan projects, including scheduling of required resources through the project office.Manage tasks allocated to internal and external individuals involved in the project delivery.Track and report project progress in-line with set customer expectations.Track and report project exceptions and risks / issues in-line with customer expectations.Ensure project stage gates are defined and met, working towards the project end goal and deliverables.Ensure delivery of project scope within agreed timescales and budgets.Provide sufficient input into technical aspects of engagements to ensure successful delivery of technical components by Bytes’ Solution Consultants and / or third party resourcesProvide sufficient business input to SAM licensing consultants to ensure successful delivery of licensing, procurement and compliance management aspects of SAM engagements.Work with Bytes Account Managers and Service Delivery Managers to ensure they are kept informed of progress and any issues with project delivery.Manage and supervise project resources, through a matrix management model, applying direct / hands-on management as necessary.Foster effective and successful team working project environment to ensure resources are motivated and projects delivered successfully.Ensure project documentation such as status reports, end of stage reports and customer signoffs are produced / obtained. Qualifications, Experience & SkillsExperience of managing; external customer engagements, multiple projects at one time and projects using Microsoft Project. - ESSENTIALGood communicator both written and oral. - ESSENTIALExcellent people management and coordination skills. - ESSENTIALAccreditation in, or able to demonstrate a good understanding and practical working knowledge of a recognised project management methodology such as Prince 2. - ESSENTIALExperience of working within IT/Software industry. - DESIRABLEPreferred experience or exposure to Software Asset Management. - DESIRABLEPreferred experience of working with software license management solutions. - DESIRABLEPreferred experience of working with infrastructure management technologies. - DESIRABLE Training GivenJob specific training will be given during employment both on the job and by vendors. Other RequirementsSome hours outside the normal working times may be required to complete specific projects.
