Training & Development Apprenticeship: advanced level leading to Level 3 Diploma (QCF) in Pharmaceutical Sciences plus Level 3 NVQ Diploma (QCF) in Pharmacy Service Skills. This provides eligibility to register as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC. You will attend 1 day of off‑site training per week at BMET Matthew Boulton College (day to be confirmed) or complete remote learning via a GPhC approved provider. Participation in quarterly appraisals and personal reviews, and work to achieve set objectives. Develop professional and pharmaceutical skills through the Trust’s pharmacy technician rotation programme, and undertake study in your own time when necessary. Responsibilities Rotate through inpatient and outpatient dispensing, goods receipt, ward stock distribution, medicines management and final accuracy checking. Maintain satisfactory stock levels, storage and turnover of medicines to ensure quality is maintained. Identify actual and potential problems, consult with staff as necessary. Complete and maintain accurate records where appropriate. Prepare labels and dispense medicines for patients, issuing medicines with appropriate information. Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients and members of the public to receive enquiries and information. Operate pharmacy computer systems for stock control and labelling.
