Job DescriptionRoyal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Product Designer to join our Product Team, working from home. You will join us on full‑time, fixed‑term contract for 12 months, and in return, you will receive a salary ranging from £50,434 to £54,037 per annum.Royal Voluntary Service is a historic charity that mobilises volunteers to support individuals, local communities and public health services across the UK.We’re currently undergoing a significant digital transformation programme and as part of this work, we have launched GoVo, a cutting‑edge greenfield platform to ignite a volunteering revolution. This includes a design system specifically built by Royal Voluntary Service for GoVo.The OpportunityWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Product Designer to help guide the design of this platform.This is a highly collaborative role working in a cross‑functional team to help understand user problems, develop iterative design options, and test ideas extensively to make sure we understand and meet our user’s needs.This role requires strong communication skills and problem‑solving abilities in addition to deep user understanding. This role will also work closely with the tech team and the rest of the product team to ensure a high‑quality user experience on GoVo.Location : Home Based with National travelHours : 35 hours per week, Monday to FridayJob RequirementsThis is what we're looking for :KnowledgeA strong understanding of Agile development practices and methodologiesA good understanding of user‑centred design and interaction design principlesUX research methods and usability testingStrong knowledge of application design practices, technologies, and methodologiesSkillsWireframing and prototyping tools e.g. FigmaTask management tools e.g. Jira, Monday.comDocument collaboration tools e.g. ConfluenceAbility to communicate effectively at all levelsAbility to prioritise and manage multiple activities, workloads, and objectives in accordance with agreed deadlinesExperience3+ years professional experience in UX design with a strong portfolio showcasing web and app‑based projects.Job ResponsibilitiesThis is what you'll be doingDesigning intuitive and elegant solutions that solve user and business problems and meet specified requirementsBuilding customer focused features which prioritise discovery, ease of use and delightBuilding back‑office featured which prioritise efficiencyUsing user‑centred design principles and practices to shape the user journeyIterative user research, testing, and qualitative analysisCarrying out 1 : 1 user interviews or group interviews to get rapid qualitative feedbackManaging user testing at scale using a testing platform to get feedback from a wider range of usersDeveloping design systems and rapid prototypingQuickly testing and validating new ideasBuilding out shared components in our design system which make it easy for all team members to quickly build innovative but consistent designsWorking with product management to create and scope features and see them through to deliveryBeing involved with the design of features at every stage of the development processThis is how you'll be doing itCreativity – Produces creative and original ideas and solutions.
