Job Description Legal Secretary - Personal Injury Location: Skipton North Yorkshire Salary: 22000 - 26000 Working Pattern: Part-time Permanent Experience required: Previous secretary experience within personal injury (highly desirable) About the Role We are seeking a Legal Secretary to support a busy Personal Injury team at a well-established Yorkshire law firm’s Skipton office. The ideal candidate will have a helpful manner, strong organisational skills and will enjoy working under pressure whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy. The ability to deliver a friendly professional quality service in all dealings with clients and other parties is essential. Secretarial and Administrative Support Audio and copy typing to fee earners specification Producing documents from the Case Management system Managing files from opening through to archiving under fee earner direction Filing, photocopying and collating documents Maintaining diaries and making appointments when required Client and Third-Party Liaison Liaising with clients and other parties on behalf of fee earners Dealing with enquiries in a professional and friendly manner Reception duties Handling telephone enquiries with confidence and clarity Maintaining excellent client relationships Financial Administration Liaising with the Accounts department to produce cheques and pay disbursements Checking Legal Aid payments and distribution thereof Managing financial documentation accurately Ensuring compliance with financial procedures Case Management Managing personal injury files efficiently Ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date Supporting fee earners with case progression Maintaining organised file systems Preparing files for archiving Office Support Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment Contributing to maintaining and improving office procedures Supporting team members as required Any other duties as required by the firm Requirements Good keyboard skills with typing speed of 55 wpm Excellent telephone skills – confident, clear, and professional Literate and numerate Ability to work accurately in accordance with team requirements Ability to deal with enquiries in a professional, friendly and effective manner Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong prioritisation and time management skills Ability to work on own initiative Prepared to work as a member of a team Excellent written English to produce client‑facing documents Clear and confident communication skills Highly Desirable Previous secretary experience within personal injury Case Management System experience Experience in a legal environmentKnowledge of Legal Aid procedures Understanding of personal injury processes Personal Attributes Flexible and can do attitude Helpful and professional manner Strong organisational skills Excellent attention to detail Commitment to delivering quality service Benefits Package Financial Rewards Salary: 22000 – 26000 (pro‑rata dependent on skills and experience) Comprehensive pension scheme Professional Development Opportunity to develop personal injury expertise Training on Case Management systems Support for professional development Ongoing training opportunities Working Environment Supportive and collaborative team environment Part‑time working pattern offering work‑life balance Skipton location with good local amenities Friendly office atmosphere About Our Client Our client is a well‑established Yorkshire law firm with a strong reputation for quality legal services and excellent client care.
