The role is based in the outpatient pharmacy of the Royal Surrey Hospital and offers a full‑time, 40‑hour per week schedule (Monday to Friday) with no weekend or bank holiday work. About the Job Following successful training of two dispensers into Pharmacy Technicians, we are expanding our outpatient pharmacy team. We seek a Pharmacy Assistant (Dispenser) who is eager to develop their role within hospital specialities and work in a patient‑centred environment. The clinical scope includes paediatrics, emergency medicine, rheumatology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and the UK’s fourth largest cancer centre, although this opportunity focuses on non‑oncology practice. Main Responsibilities Work as part of a pharmacy team of around 10 people, under the direction of a registered pharmacist. Receive training, support and development to work safely and effectively. Assist with daily opening and closing tasks of the pharmacy. Prepare medicines and deliver them between on‑site dispensaries. Ensure medicines are appropriately ordered, received, secured and managed. Complete project work and participate in audits with support from pharmacists or technicians. Use effective questioning and listening techniques to meet the needs of patients and colleagues. Advise patients about their prescriptions.
