Position Details:
Position: Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: North Manchester
Contract Type: Long-term (Ongoing)
Start Date: December 2025
Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
Rate of Pay: £476.45 - £550.00 (DOE)
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Classroom Support: Assist with lessons, ensuring students stay engaged and focused.
Cover Classes: Manage the classroom in the absence of the teacher, maintaining a positive learning environment.
Lead Interventions: Run small and large group interventions, particularly in literacy and numeracy.
Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
Support Individual Needs: Provide additional help to students, including those with SEN.
Communication: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff regarding student progress.
Safeguarding: Ensure the well-being of all students by following safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience supporting children or young people (school, tutoring, youth work, care, coaching all welcome)
Experience: At least 12 weeks of experience working in a UK school setting.
Training: Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable, but training will be provided).
Teaching Assistant experience is beneficial, but not essential. We welcome applications from graduates and career changers looking to start a rewarding role in education.
Eligibility Requirements:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
Two professional references from educational settings
