Assistant Distribution Centre Manager Department: Distribution Employment Type: Full Time Location: Coventry Distribution Centre Reporting To: Distribution Centre Manager Compensation: £33,000 / year Description Fancy helping run one of our distribution centres? Are you looking for a varied role where no two days are the same? What’s the opportunity? We’re on the lookout for an Assistant Distribution Centre Manager to come and join our team at Coventry. This is a key role within the logistics network and the successful person will be responsible for fully supporting the Distribution Centre Manager with the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the distribution operation. They will also be responsible for running the warehouse in the absence of the Manager What does the role involve? Oversee the unloading and receipt of goods into the warehouse Supervise the completion of all checks and documentation required by law on delivery vehicles and ensures that the appropriate documentation is kept on file and available for inspection at all times Oversee and undertake quality inspections of goods for delivery, initiating remedial action as required and ensuring goods are wrapped for despatch in line with Company policy and established working practices Provide leadership and guidance to the supervisors and all other team members, including training and developing and motivating the team to optimise individual and collective work performance Proactively contribute to the management of Health and Safety within the warehouse Monitor the workload of colleagues and make sure that manual handling and other health and safety processes are being followed Supervise and assist the team with moving and handling of furniture and carpets within the warehouse Assist and support the Distribution Centre Manager with the maintenance and security of the premises, transport, colleagues and stock Supervise and contribute towards general housekeeping within the DC and vehicles, making sure that they follow company standards Oversee the basic maintenance of equipment Heavy lifting Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays Who are we looking for? Experience within a Warehouse Supervisor / Assistant Manager role Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strives to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction Flexibility to work evenings and weekends Team player Ability to lead and coach a team CPC qualification card would be desirable What’s in it for you?
