Mobile Caretaker (Estate Caretaker) Company: Midianet, Little London, England, United Kingdom Location: North London, Islington Hours: 0800 - 1600 / Monday - Friday Job type: Temporary/Perm (3 months Temp to be taken on perm) Pay: PAYE: £13.85 per hour or Umbrella: £16.55 per hour (fuel card and van provided) Responsibilities Inspecting and cleaning communal areas including sweeping & mopping, external litter picking, leaf clearance, cleaning bin areas and rotating bins. Carrying out health and safety checks, reporting bulk rubbish, graffiti, and abandoned vehicles to the appropriate teams. Working to high standards: several tasks such as ensuring refuse chutes are clear, preparing bulk for uplift, maintaining hazard-free blocks at each visit, recording work time in the system, photographing repairs or H&S issues, and communicating with all teams and departments. Promoting a positive image and reporting any tenancy issues to the Housing Officer. Also required to carry out maintenance of internal areas of blocks, cleaning internal ledges, sills, handrails, balustrades, doors, walks, and removing cobwebs from light fittings and all surroundings. Take personal responsibility for ensuring that the estate is clean, tidy, landscaped, litter free and safe from hazards by delivering a high quality caretaking and grounds maintenance service to residents. Identify and assist in ways to improve the internal and external environment through working closely as part of a team and taking pride in the role. Rotate bins regularly to ensure refuse chutes are clear and ensure bulk bins are placed ready for collection. Sweep and wash communal staircase and landings as appropriate. Clean internal ledges, sills, handrails, balustrades, doors, walls and remove cobwebs from light fittings and all surroundings. Following the removal of refuse from the dustbins/bulk refuse containers, hose down and disinfect the area.
