OverviewJoin Severn Trent’s Design Team as a Senior Design Engineer. In this role you’ll drive our wastewater design forward, work with stakeholders, consultants and contractors to protect and enhance the quality of our waste treatment assets and rivers, and influence data systems and strategies to support Severn Trent goals.Key ResponsibilitiesSewage treatment assets – understanding existing assets, completing risk assessments and short to long-term complex investigationsDevelop strategies to enhance assets and inform regulatory submissions; collaborate across the business as we build river quality, sustainability and net zero carbon plans influencing the business to move away from traditional investment routesCarry out self-led research on emerging technologies to define new innovative treatment options and collaborate internally and externally to promote new strategiesPromote ongoing waste treatment capital maintenance programme; ensure robust evidence-based understanding of how waste treatment sites work to maintain final effluent qualityTactical support and advice to operational teams to maintain the availability and quality of waste treatment services for customersWhat You’ll BringYou’ll be degree qualified (desirable) and a member of one of the engineering Institutions or actively working towards incorporated or chartered status, a journey Severn Trent supports. Water industry background is helpful but not essential; an engineering discipline is required.Excellent internal and external stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups. You will be forward-thinking and able to anticipate challenges and respond to change.
