Our client, a leading consultancy in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Senior C&I Engineer to join their dynamic team. This permanent position, based in Bristol and Glasgow with flexible hybrid working options, offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a variety of projects across the civil nuclear, defence, renewable energy, and storage systems sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Overseeing C&I projects from concept design through to commissioning.
Designing innovative process control systems, including associated safety systems.
Delivering innovation projects, taking new systems and technologies from concept to acceptance.
Managing production, verification, and approval of electrical reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings.
Leading a project team to ensure deliverables are met within agreed timelines and budgets.
Interfacing with clients to develop requirements, negotiate contracts, and manage progress reporting and risk management.

Job Requirements:

Essential Requirements:

MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
Extensive practical knowledge of process control systems and solid understanding of EC&I documents such as SLDs, P&IDs, BCDs, and schematics.
Experience developing solutions for safety-critical systems aligned with standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, ISO 13849, DO-178, and DO-254.
Experience working to the requirements of ISO 9001.
Mentoring and developing electrical engineers.
Technical leadership on projects.
Desirable Requirements:

Experience with platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Pilz PAS4000, and Rockwell Studio Logic.
Formal functional safety certification/accreditation (e.g., TUV Functional Safety Professional).
Understanding or awareness of Cyber Security standards such as IEC 62443.
Familiarity with change control and defect tracking tools and processes.
Chartership.
Experience interfacing with Regulators such as ONR, DMR, CAA, MAA, Ofgem, ORR, etc.
