OverviewTieTalent Transport Team Leader role at Fowler Welch (Part of the Culina Group). Fowler Welch operates in the fresh produce sector providing time-critical logistics solutions for major retailers, growers and manufacturers across the UK.Location: Evesham. Employment type: Full-time permanent. Salary: £33,000-£36,000 per annum depending on experience. Working Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 21:30-07:30.Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Team Leader to join our friendly team in Evesham on a full-time permanent basis.As the Transport Team Leader you will be responsible for daily planning of company and third party resources, ensuring that all vehicles and drivers are given clear precise instruction, and are fully utilised. You will lead a team to ensure that all service levels are met cost effectively and within the constraints of drivers hours and H&S regulations.Key DutiesEnsure that all elements of the job are communicated effectively to all parties, particularly drivers and sub-contractors.Plan the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles, sub-contractors and agencies ensuring that all Company sites are fully considered when doing so.Ensure that the team are working within a safe environment and follow driver hours regulations.Liaise with retail department teams to optimise fleet/driver utilisation and resolve problems affecting delivery on time.Assist in the control of equipment ensuring that customer requirements are met and recorded.Liaise with customers regarding present or future developments.Support and if necessary, provide cover for the Transport Operation Manager in meetings or customer visits.To ensure all vehicle and trailer services are completed on time.Oversee the effective application of the Company absence policy and procedures including monitoring of absence levels and conducting return to work discussions.Identify the training and development needs for team members and coach/organise/oversee solutions using own knowledge and company training tools.QualificationsExperience of working within a distribution/transport environment.Sound geographical knowledge.Knowledge & experience of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.Attention to detail/accuracy.Good IT skills including Microsoft Office packages.Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.Able to work as part of a team or individually.BenefitsAnnual leave 28 days inclusive of bank holidays.Pension scheme with 4.5% employee and 4.5% employer contribution.Life Assurance - x3 your annual salary.Wellness via the Employee Assistance Programme (confidential counselling and legal information service, available 24/7).Eye care vouchers with savings on eye tests and glasses.Reward and recognition schemes (Employee of the Month/Year, long service awards).Everyday discounts via our benefit platform (over 50 retailer discounts).If you meet the requirements for the above role and are looking for your next career opportunity, please apply now and become a part of our #WinningTeam #J-18808-Ljbffr
