Are you an experienced Financial Controller? Our client, a well-established organisation is seeking a dedicated and strategic Finance Controller to join their dynamic team in Wilmslow, North West. The successful candidate will oversee all financial activities, provide valuable insights, and support the company s ongoing success in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulationsDevelop and manage the annual budget and financial forecastsMaximise cash flow and minimise bad debt or leakageMonitor and analyse financial performance, identify trends and variances, and recommend improvementsEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholdersManage, mentor, and motivate the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growthImplement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assetsCoordinate the preparation of statutory accounts and oversee the annual audit processManage HMRC requirements including VAT & PAYECollaborate across departments to support strategic initiatives and operational efficiencyProvide financial insights and analysis to support executive decision-makingStay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance and accountingDevelop and coach the Team Leader, supporting their professional developmentQualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ICAEW) with proven experience as a Finance Controller or similar roleStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and controlsExperience working in the insurance sector and in a customer-focused environmentProficiency in financial software, including Sage, and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skillsLeadership skills with experience managing and developing teamsExceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively across departments and with senior stakeholdersHigh attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under pressureExperience working in a fast-paced, technology-driven settingThis role offers many benefits, including 25 days of holiday, with the option to increase this by one day each year after your first anniversary, up to 30 days.
