Platform Engineering Specialist We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Platform Engineering specialist with deep understanding and skills across DevOps, Site Reliability, and AWS Cloud Architecture. You will join an existing leadership team and serve as the point of reference for this area, while line‑managing a number of senior-level Platform Engineers and DevOps Engineers. The What Role responsibilities include: Platform engineering duties focusing on DevOps, SRE, and AWS Cloud Architecture. Lead technical architecture and people leadership, managing up to 6+ direct reports. Remain hands‑on while providing strategic guidance. Required Skills Strong AWS experience (IAM, EC2, ECS, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.). Proficiency with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with IaC, CI/CD, and Jenkins. Strong experience with scripting such as Python, PowerShell, and Bash. Automation experience with Ansible, Terraform, and other IaC tools. Leadership Experience Must have operated at a technical lead level (architect or people leader) and be comfortable taking on 6+ direct reports while remaining hands‑on. Hybrid Working Our client operates a flexible working pattern with around 1–2 days a week in the office – either in Manchester City Centre or their office in South Manchester.
