Job summary Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse looking to make a real difference in the lives of older people living with dementia? St Brelades Ward at Alderney Hospital is a specialist male dementia ward, providing high-quality, person-centred care for individuals experiencing Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD). We are currently recruiting a Registered Nurse to cover maternity leave who is passionate about delivering outstanding care in a supportive and dynamic team. We are looking for an individual who can provide confident shift leadership, work collaboratively, and bring excellent communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills. A caring, compassionate attitude and the ability to work with initiative are essential for this role. What we offer A comprehensive and structured induction and training programme. Rotas are managed electronically with a minimum of 6 weeks' notice. Main duties of the job Provide a high quality person-centred approach to care delivery which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity. Undertake assessment of patients/service users care needs, and develop programmes of care as part of the wider multi-disciplinary care team. Provide advice to patients/service users and carers regarding their care. Plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings. Provide supervision, mentorship, and clinical support to students and junior staff in the team. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only.
