North Middlesex University Hospital (North Mid) are searching for an experienced and passionate Band 6 Children's Community Nurse to join their highly skilled and enthusiastic theatres team.North Middlesex provides both hospital and community care, helping to keep people in the best possible health at every stage in their lives.The North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is a medium-sized acute and community trust with over 525 beds and over 600 community staff, serving more than 600,000 people living across Enfield and Haringey and the surrounding areas, including Barnet and Waltham Forest.The candidate is required to have community experience, a driving license, and a car.Shifts are 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday.An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Nurse to become a member of the Community Children’s Nursing Team (CCNT), providing occasional cross over for the Hospital at Home team.The post holder will work under the direction of the Children’s Community Team leader with responsibility for the assessment of care needs for all patients, ensuring appropriately planned care is both implemented and evaluated.The Nurse is expected to work with minimal supervision and will be designated to take charge and work as a lone worker within the community on a regular basis.The Nurse will provide care at home without supervision to facilitate the prevention of admission or reduction in hospitalisation.The Nurse will act as an effective clinical leader and will ensure the clinical and professional development of all staff for whom they are responsible.Circumstances may arise for the post holder to assist in providing clinical cover in all areas of the paediatric unit, supporting the Hospital at Home team when required.Experienced band 5 nurses will be considered for the post.Main Duties and Responsibilities:To assess individual care needs, develop, implement, and evaluate care given to patients in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.To provide evidence-based nursing care to children and young people within the community setting.To perform nursing procedures to a high standard in accordance with local clinical Practice Guidelines and policies.To be competent in the recognition and management of life-threatening emergencies in and be able to carry these out in the community setting.To be responsible for the identification of child protection concerns to the team leader/ child protection lead and auctioning concerns through child protection procedures.
