Main duties of the job

The Connect Eating Disorders Service is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 nurse to join the inpatient team. This post is open to existing qualified nurses who have completed a period of preceptorship.

The ward is a 14 bedded ward offering treatment to patients who are resident in the Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees, Calderdale and Bradford areas. The service offers inpatient assessment and treatment for patients with a diagnosed eating disorder, working closely with the CONNECT community team to provide seamless care.

Our aims are to manage significant physical risk and to manage this effectively. Offer a variety of evidence based psychological therapies and practical interventions. This will be in the form of individual sessions, and group work, all offered and led by all members of the MDT.

The post offers you an opportunity to work closely with families and offer input into the service's carers support group. We are keen to develop practical workshops for inpatients and their families in addition to increasing service user and carer involvement.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

It is not essential that you have experience of working with this client group, as induction training and support will be offered. Specific training of MANTRA and CBT-E will be provided. We are keen to hear from candidates who have a genuine interest and empathy in working with individuals with eating disorders and associated complex needs.
