OverviewCaretakers required for morning and afternoons. Shifts vary: 6am–2pm, 1pm–10pm, or 12pm–6:30pm.ResponsibilitiesProactively notice issues and either sort them straight away or report them appropriately.Be responsive and flexible in helping the College achieve its aims.Open and secure the site (unlocking and locking) and set alarms as necessary.Be visible and active across the campus, particularly after 5pm, locking non-essential doors and ensuring areas are clear of staff and students before locking up fully.Act as Fire Marshall and respond to alarms as appropriate, including safe evacuation of staff and students and re-setting fire alarms as required.Ensure that furniture is moved and rooms are set out as required for each day’s activities (e.g., exams, exhibitions).Provide a distribution service for deliveries, reprographics, etc.Work with the wider Facilities Management Department and respond promptly to allocated jobs within agreed Service Levels.Use the radio system to communicate with the FM Team, Safety Engagement, and during evacuation or emergency situations.Carry out minor repairs, including repairs to buildings, hard paved areas, gates and fences, patch painting after minor repairs, graffiti, etc.Operate lift emergency procedures and evacuate persons trapped in lifts.Clean light fittings and replace lamps and tubes.Liaise with Safety Engagement to ensure College premises are a safe environment for students, staff and visitors.Liaise with and work alongside other FM teams to maintain the facilities, buildings and sites.Supplement and work closely with cleaners by ensuring spillages, overflowing bins, water machines, etc. are dealt with promptly and any cleaning issues are reported appropriately.Meridian Business Support is a recruitment agency acting on behalf of our client for this vacancy. #J-18808-Ljbffr
