Hours and RateHours: 2 hours per week term time and 10 hours per week school holidays to include some weekend work and cover for holidays and sickness.Rate: £16.50 per hour.LocationScotswood, Newcastle Upon Tyne.OverviewNelly is a lovely, sassy little girl with complex needs. She lives with her mum, siblings and their dog Dolly in Scotswood, Newcastle. The household is busy with after‑school activities and events. Nelly loves dancing, music, her iPad and attends training sessions with her siblings, who compete in chosen sports.Nelly has CPVT, a life‑threatening heart abnormality requiring specialist medical support and scheduled for future heart surgery. She carries a defibrillator that the PA must be trained to operate. She wears specialist sunglasses due to photophobia, has ADHD, autism and learning difficulties, and may present challenging behaviour if overstimulated or not regulated. Experience working with children with autism is required. She takes medication managed by her mum.RoleWe seek a Social Personal Assistant to assist and accompany Nelly to utilise the local community and enjoy chosen activities. The PA provides permanent supervision as Nelly has no sense of danger and will take risks. A car driver is preferred as Nelly enjoys trips out in the car and it helps regulate her.
