# Domestic Team Leader### Job IntroductionDomestic Team Leader – Queens Hospital, RM7 0AGHours: 27 hours per weekPay: £15.22 per hourContract: 6-month fixed-term contractShifts: Rotating – 3 nights per weekSodexo’sDomestic Services Team at Queens Hospital as a Domestic Team Leader, where you’llhelp deliver a clean, safe, and caring environment for patients, staff, andvisitors.About the RoleAs a Domestic Team Leader, you’ll assist in managing a high-quality, cost-effective, and proactive cleaning service that meets the needs of the hospital and aligns with both Sodexo and NHS Trust standards. You’ll lead a team of Domestic Assistants, ensuring consistent delivery of outstanding cleaning performance, staff engagement, and compliance with infection control and health & safety policies.Key responsibilities include:* Supervising and supporting the domestic cleaning team to deliver excellent standards across wards and departments.* Monitoring cleaning performance and hygiene standards, ensuring full compliance with national and Trust requirements.* Preparing staff rotas, allocating work, and prioritising urgent cleaning requests.* Conducting regular audits, inspections, and quality control checks, taking action where improvements are needed.* Managing stock, equipment, and consumables efficiently within budget.* Providing training, coaching, and ongoing support to ensure team members are confident and competent in their roles.* Managing sickness, absence, and performance reviews for your team.* Ensuring adherence to health, safety, fire, and infection prevention policies at all times.* Maintaining accurate records, timesheets, and other documentation.* Leading by example with professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to continuous improvement.About YouWe’re looking for aconfident, organised individual with strong leadership skills and a passion formaintaining a clean and safe healthcare environment.Essential skills and experience:Experiencesupervising or managing a cleaning/domestic team, ideally in a hospital orhealthcare setting.Good standard ofliteracy and numeracy.Knowledge ofinfection prevention, COSHH, and Health & Safety procedures.Stronginterpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.Excellent timemanagement and organisational abilities.Ability to train,motivate, and develop team members.Financial awarenessand understanding of managing costs and resources.Flexibility to workrotating night shifts and adapt to changing priorities.Desirable:* Manual Handling training.* Experience in delivering staff training using company guidelines.* Understanding of NHS cleaning policies and standards.* NVQ or equivalent qualification in Cleaning or Team Leadership.We may close thisadvert early if we receive a high number of applications — so don’t waitAbout SodexoAt Sodexo, our purpose is to create a better every dayfor everyone to build a better life for all.
