Social Programmes: Empower Up Social Group Leader Location: Hybrid working: NAS office, home working plus travel to venues within Glasgow. Salary: £12.53 per hour Contract type: Fixed term until 31st October 2027 (2 years) Hours per week: 5 hours per week. Visit our website to find out more about who we are and what we do: https://www.autism.org.uk/ About Empower Up: Following recent funding from the National Lottery Community Fund - Young Start the National Autistic Society Scotland require a suitably skilled individual to join our Social Programme Team. Empower Up is a project that will empower young autistic people aged 12 – 18 years to build confidence, social skills, and connections. Autistic people experience communication and sensory differences, which can make forming social relationships and social interaction difficult. In Scotland, 67 of autistic people feel socially isolated, and they are four times more likely to experience chronic loneliness than the general population. Who we are looking for: We are looking for a dynamic person to support the Empower Up Coordinator in delivering social navigation modules, facilitating social groups, and contributing to the ongoing development of an established youth steering group for autistic young people. To achieve success in this role you should have experience of the following: Working with disabled people Delivering presentations to a range of audiences. Delivering training to groups of young people. To succeed in this role, you will bring excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills. The successful candidate will understand the issues facing autistic young people and will be passionate about improving their quality of life. Delivery of groups will be in the evenings; administrative tasks can be completed during the day with some flexibility to suit individual arrangements.
