Associate Director Sustainable Procurement job role with a large, multidisciplinary construction consultancy based in Bristol.

This is a unique opportunity to progress your career with a reputable and fast-expanding business.

Hybrid working is available, although the client dictates the working model.

Employer's services include Sustainable Procurement, Transformational Procurement, Renewables, Digital Procurement and Net Zero Strategies.

The Associate Director Sustainable Procurement is responsible for leading teams and programmes helping clients to meet their social and environmental targets. This includes orientating clients' procurement operations, across multiple commissions, towards net zero and better environmental and social outcomes.

The successful candidate will be making a sustainable impact on large-scale flagship projects, working with and managing an outstanding team of specialist procurement and sustainability consultants.

The Employer encourages and supports individuals to achieve MCIPS status for CIPS and regular Professional Development will be available to further skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • To provide sustainable procurement management and insights across multiple projects and commissions, helping clients progress towards better environmental, social & economic outcomes
  • To lead project teams and play an important role in our large global transformation programmes
  • To provide management, challenge and guidance to colleagues as they work on client projects and commissions
  • To identify, design, deliver and continually improve clients' environmental performance to meet targets across key sustainability themes
  • Lead the development of the sustainable procurement services and propositions
  • To play a leading role in the business generation of sustainable procurement opportunities for the employer
  • To actively input and manage the delivery of both team and wider business targets
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Implementation of Sustainable Procurement vision and objectives
  • Sustainable Procurement insights and research
  • Previous procurement consulting experience gained from either client, contractor or professional services organisation
  • Experience of embedding ISO 20400 (Sustainable Procurement) into procurement operations, desired but not essential
  • Strong project team management ethos and ability to lead delivery and transformation programmes
  • Experience of leading the development of client facing eminence and propositions
  • Strong understanding of wider ESG legislative and regulatory environments is desirable
  • Experience of successful supplier engagement (as part of embedding sustainability)
  • Confident, independent and able to work autonomously without need for supervision
  • Be able to provide mentorship and guidance to team members
  • Be able to manage work/business development/career development activities
  • Have an adaptable approach to work
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • A degree related to one of the following; Procurement, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Business Management or similar disciplines
  • Has achieved, is working towards or is willing to work towards at least Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply
