The Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) This is an exciting and critical opportunity for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dynamic secondary academy in Bradford. This permanent role is focused on supporting and leading learning for students, particularly those with SEMH and behavioural needs. Staff benefit from dedicated professional development and a collaborative working environment. What We're Looking For HLTA status or equivalent experience in an educational setting. A passion for working with young people who need extra support. Eligibility to work in the UK. Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one). Key Skills Behaviour Management (Expertise in de-escalation techniques). Lesson Delivery (Ability to lead whole-class learning). Relationship Building (Fostering trust with students and staff). Differentiated Instruction (Adapting content for diverse needs). SEMH Support (Knowledge of strategies for emotional well-being). Data Analysis (Monitoring and reporting on student progress). What You'll Do Deliver engaging lessons and interventions for students with SEMH and behavioural needs. Support teachers in creating personalised learning experiences that spark curiosity and progress. Build strong, positive relationships that help students feel safe, valued, and motivated. Work with colleagues and external partners to ensure every child gets the support they deserve. Live out the academy's ethos and 9 Habits, promoting inclusion, respect, and resilience every day. Plan and prepare learning materials and resources under the direction of the class teacher. Assess, monitor, and record students' progress and provide constructive feedback. Supervise and manage classroom behaviour effectively, implementing the school's policy. Support the emotional and social development of students, acting as a key mentor.
