Managing Director – Catalyst (Newton Aycliffe, United Kingdom) Catalyst is a UK manufacturer of high‑quality branded consumer goods committed to innovation, sustainability and British engineering. Having celebrated a major national award for its latest product, the company is seeking a visionary and dynamic Managing Director to lead the next phase of growth, drive profitability and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Develop strategic plans to achieve financial and corporate goals, growth targets and market competitiveness. Finance management – oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting and optimal resource allocation. Leadership – provide direction to the executive team and staff, fostering a positive company culture. Operations optimization – manage production processes and supply chain to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Negotiations – represent the company in high‑level negotiations. Culture & values – ensure alignment between company values, mission and day‑to‑day operations. Compliance – maintain adherence to all legal, regulatory and health & safety requirements. Industry insight – stay informed of trends, encourage R&D and drive product and process improvements. Qualifications & Characteristics Desire to transition into a first Managing Director role, possibly from a financial background. Strong drive, impatience to get things done and a finisher/completer mindset. Exceptional leadership, decision‑making, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills. Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage budgets and drive profitability. Energy, ambition and potential to lead the organization forward. Salary & Benefits £150,000–200,000 + bonus + benefits + potential equity share.
