Korus Health supports the work of the NHS by providing ultrasound scans to patients within their local community. The role of clinical assistant forms part of a clinical team working to give patients a safe and positive experience at their ultrasound appointment.Main duties of the jobWe are looking for someone committed to providing excellent care to patients and through supporting the sonographer with ultrasound scans. You will help to make the patients feel at ease from the word go and work with the sonographer to ensure that the all the relevant protocols including safeguarding and infection control. You will also carry out IT tasks needed within the clinics.About usKorus Health is a vibrant company with a family feel providing support to the NHS within local communities.Job responsibilitiesWorkwith the sonographer to set up the necessary equipment for clinics in thecommunityPreparefor each day by ensuring the clinic room and clinic list is ready before thefirst appointmentTakeresponsibility for leaving the clinic room in a clean and tidy condition at theend of each day including general housekeepingWillingto be accountable for personally following information governance andconfidentiality proceduresBewilling to undertake training as necessary to fulfil the role including basicknowledge of medical terms associated with the roleFulldriving license and access to the use of a car for work travelHavegood IT skills in order to accurately register clinics and input dataHavethe appropriate interpersonal skills necessary to welcome patients to theclinic by greeting them warmly and making them feel comfortableHavean understanding of equality and diversity and promote this within all companyinteractionsBeprepared to respond to the needs of the patient by reading the notes beforetheir appointment as well as alerting the sonographer to any specific needsActas an advocate for the patient providing dignity and respect throughout allproceduresRecordaccurate measurements of the sonographers findingsInspectthe supply of clinical equipment to ensure that they are in good condition andimmediately report any defects to the operations managerEnsure that the ultrasound machineincluding the probes and leads, the keyboard , screen and stand are cleaned usingthe appropriate materialsMethodicallyfollow the infection control procedures to prevent contamination of allequipment and also the clinic roomGenerallywork as a member of the clinic team supporting the sonographer to achieve agood level of communication with the patient to support an accurate diagnosisSupportthe sonographer to ensure that clinics run smoothly and all necessary tasksincluding IT are completed by the end of each clinic.Demonstrateactive listening skills to support the sonographers reportingSupportthe sonographer by keeping track of time to ensure that clinics run to scheduleDemonstrateconfident communication skills to support positive team communication i.e. withsonographer and other colleaguesBuilda good working relationship with partners in our community clinicsDemonstrateability to work with minimal guidance and take initiative to solve problemsthat may prevent the successful running of clinicsThisjob description describes responsibilities, as they are currently required.This is an outline job description and should not be regarded as an inflexiblespecification.
