Radiographer - Mammography (Bank) - Circle Health Group Thornbury Hospital, Sheffield Bank shiftsSalary: Up to £30.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification) Overview This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis. You will supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff during annual leave or absence. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols. Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimizing the need for repeat exposures. Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility. Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable and reassured throughout their examination. Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration. Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly. Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS). Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways. Qualifications BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification. HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer. Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment. Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control and patient confidentiality requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient‑centred approach. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Minimum 2 years experience in Mammography breast screening is essential.
