We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Liverpool. As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons that are tailored to the individual needs of students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This role requires a Teacher who is adaptable, empathetic, and dedicated to providing the best outcomes for each child in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated lessons as a Teacher, ensuring that each student's individual needs are met.
Work closely with support staff to provide tailored interventions and one-to-one support to students with SEN.
As a Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment that supports students' emotional, social, and academic development.
Regularly monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to help students achieve their potential and improve their outcomes.
Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, working collaboratively as a Teacher to ensure a holistic approach to support. Essential Criteria:
Qualified Teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching students with a variety of special educational needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and SEMH needs.
Ability to create and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring access to the curriculum.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
A patient, empathetic approach to working with children with SEN, with a genuine passion for making a difference as a Teacher.
Desirable:
Experience working in a specialist SEN setting or with students who have complex needs.
Knowledge of a range of SEN strategies, including communication tools, sensory activities, and behaviour management techniques.
Familiarity with using assistive technology to support students with SEN in their learning.
A commitment to ongoing professional development to enhance your skills as a Teacher.
Experience working with other professionals, such as SENCOs, therapists, and external agencies, to support the development of students.About the School:
