Dissertation Supervisor - Business & Tourism We are looking for dissertation supervisors to support our vision of changing lives through education. Are you experienced in guiding students through dissertation writing and have demonstrable experience in Business and Tourism Management, working with adult learners from diverse backgrounds? You will join the teaching team and support the research project module. You will be allocated up to 20 project students and required to provide 10 hours of supervision plus marking time per student. Salary: £250 per student in all locations. Includes supervisory time, formative feedback, 1st and 2nd marking, and ad‑hoc meetings. Department: Academic/Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) partnershipLocation: London (West and East), Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds – (On‑Site) What You'll Be Doing Academic supervision: support students in defining research questions, advise on methodologies and ethics, guide literature reviews, provide structured feedback, ensure dissertations meet academic & institutional standards. Student support: maintain regular contact, encourage independent thinking, address academic or personal challenges, promote inclusive learning environments. About You Qualified to at least a Master's level degree in a related discipline. Demonstrable experience in academic research and dissertation supervision. Experience working in higher education. Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, statistical programmes and secondary data analysis. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of research ethics, methodologies and academic writing conventions. Passion for higher education and working with a diverse student body, especially mature students from widening participation backgrounds. Willing to work occasional weekends and evenings, and travel to campuses. Good IT skills with Microsoft packages. Desirable External examiner experience. Relevant industry experience.
