Phlebotomist – Nuffield Health The Manor Hospital Location: Oxford, England, United Kingdom Employment type: Permanent contract – Full time Salary: £24,531 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week At Nuffield Health, we’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and experience of working in a healthcare environment to join us. Responsibilities Take venous bloods safely from patients on the wards and outpatient departments. Collect venous blood of good quality using aseptic techniques, ensuring minimum pain and discomfort to the patient. Check patient identity, verify special instructions (e.g., period of fasting) and gain patient consent to proceed. Provide high‑quality support to our clinical team. Remain calm under pressure and maintain professionalism. Prepare work areas correctly and safely, and use, store and maintain equipment. Monitor stock levels and advise senior staff when replenishment is required. Handle and treat specimens in accordance with policies and procedures to ensure correct nature, sequence, and timing of activities. Confirm tasks with relevant information sources before proceeding. Respect individual dignity, wishes, and beliefs, involving patients in shared decision making and obtaining their consent. Prepare appropriately for each task, considering risks. Record tasks accurately, following delegated procedures/protocols consistent with legislation, policies, and procedures. Monitor patients during tasks and identify any changes to their health and wellbeing. Qualifications & Competencies At least six months of phlebotomy experience. Attention to detail.
