Quality Improvement Fellow in Intensive Care Medicine The closing date is 17 December 2025. Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is an innovative Foundation Trust located in the multicultural east end of London. We provide a wide range of acute and specialist services and have a modern Medical Education Centre and an active Postgraduate Teaching Programme. We are looking for a senior clinical fellow to start in March 2025. This opportunity is ideal for a doctor with an interest in critical care to develop as a clinician and gain wide‑ranging experience, including attending follow‑up clinics and working with multiple specialties to enhance critical care services within the Trust. Applicants must have previous adult critical‑care experience and advanced airway skills. Full registration with the General Medical Council is required at the time of application. A higher qualification is desirable but not essential. Main Duties of the Job Clinical service on the ICU, participation in a 1:7 on‑call rota, involvement in clinical governance, and continuous skill development. Job Responsibilities Provide clinical service on the ICU. Participate in a 1:7 on‑call rota (may vary with staff allocation). Participate in clinical governance. Ensure continued development of skills and learning. Contribute to a comprehensive and efficient Intensive Care Medicine service. Provide evidence‑based care and adhere to national standards and local commissioning contracts. Engage in ongoing clinical audit and risk management; attend clinical governance meetings as feasible. Complete all administrative duties associated with patient care. Person Specification Qualifications MBBS or equivalent. Full registration with the General Medical Council. Part 1 of FRCA, MRCP, FCEM or equivalent. Full FRCA, MRCP, FCEM or equivalent. Member of a learned society relevant to intensive care (e.g., CIC, ESICM). Credentials in APLS, ATLS, ALS. Knowledge Equivalent to CT2+ level at application. Previous adult critical‑care experience. Ability to assess, treat and stabilise the majority of critical‑care referrals independently. Completion of Initial Airway Competencies. Advanced life support course instructor (ALS/ATLS/APLS). Education Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development. Personal Skills Good communication skills and ability to work in teams. Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
