Job Description COS is looking for a Junior Designer for bags, belts and SLGs across womenswear and menswear to contribute to the creation of a compelling, on-brand and commercially successful assortment within our RTW Collections. This role plays a key part in supporting the department's creative direction, strategic goals and constantly looking for new relevant fashion ideas. In this role, you will have a clear understanding of the COS aesthetic and the customer, to ensure visual and design targets of the brand are met. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the development of the seasonal bag collection through trend research, design development and creation of detailed research packs and technical sketches. Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Buying, and Product Development teams to ensure efficient workflow, clear visual communication, and alignment with both short- and long-term departmental goals. Support the communication of department goals and outcomes across the organisation as needed. Assist in fittings by taking notes and updating technical sketches using Illustrator. Assist in sourcing and developing fabrics, materials, and trimmings relevant to bag design. Support assortment planning and product development in collaboration with the Senior Designer and Buying team, using relevant analysis and a strong understanding of the COS customer and aesthetic. Continuously monitor customer needs, market trends, and sales performance to inform design and identify new opportunities. Ensure the collection caters to all customer end uses and reflects all layers of the COS design triangle-from essentials to fashion and statement pieces. Demonstrate a strong design identity aligned with the COS aesthetic, with excellent attention to colour, material, and detail in bag design. Apply strong technical knowledge of materials, colour, construction, and finish specific to bags. Work hands-on with materials and construction techniques, developing mock-ups and prototypes to explore new shapes, functions, and design details that bring innovation to the collection Qualifications Alignment to our company values is the most important characteristic we look for in all new joiners. What you need to succeed Previous experience in accessories design (bags essential) Degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, Product Design, or a related field. Strong sketching and visual communication skills (hand-drawn and digital). Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of AI, InDesign and 3D software is a plus Understanding of bag construction, materials, hardware, and finishing techniques. Ability to create technical drawings and update specs based on fittings and development feedback Strong sense of colour, proportion and detail Ability to interpret trends and translate them into commercially viable designs Clear design identity aligned with the COS aesthetic Strong organisational and time-management skills. Clear and confident communicator, both visually and verbally. Additional Information This is a full time permanent role based at our Head Office in London.
