OverviewVolunteers are crucial to the success of the drop-in. Roles include assisting guests in the marketplace to find essential items, signposting them to external organisations at the information desk, and providing help with legal forms and other advice. Befriending and socialising with guests, cooking and serving hot meals, preparing refreshments, and running activities in the children’s area such as arts, crafts, and sports are also important roles. Volunteers may also assist in the homework club, source and bring ingredients for meals (with reimbursement provided), or encourage donations of much-needed items from the community.Shift 1: 10.00 - 12.15 - mainly setting up the centreShift 2: 12.00 - 3.00 - supporting our guests and clearing upYou are welcome to do one or both shiftsThe Drop-in Centre for Asylum Seeker's will aim to run on the last Sunday of every month - unless it clashes with a Jewish or National holiday.
