What you’ll be doing Working closely with a small team of managers to ensure the store runs like clockwork every day. Taking responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the store, often being the only manager on duty and accountable for the full shop. Working alongside the team to complete all tasks, ensuring our customers are served efficiently and safely. Managing people – including performance and capability, conducting disciplinaries, and ensuring accurate scheduling and pay. Assisting other convenience stores in the network when required. What makes a great customer & trading manager Previous line‑management responsibilities in a fast‑paced, operational environment. Provides brilliant customer service and coaches a team to do the same. Delivers on KPIs or other performance indicators. Can manage disciplinaries, performance issues or other employee‑relations matters. Comfortable leading operations independently in the absence of senior management. Essential Criteria Track record of delivering excellent customer service and coaching colleagues. Experience leading a fast‑paced, customer‑facing team – motivating, driving performance, and keeping operations smooth. Operational leadership skills – taking responsibility for store operations when senior managers are absent. Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs in areas such as sales, availability, customer satisfaction or colleague engagement. Experience managing employee‑relations issues, including performance and absence management.
