We have an exciting opportunity for an Editorial and Content Lead to join our Editorial and Publications team About us and the role Here at the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), our core job is driving confidence and trust in legal services. We regulate more than 200,000 solicitors and 9,000 law firms in England and Wales. We make sure solicitors are working to high professional standards and step in to protect the public when needed, while supporting access to high-quality legal services. Whether it's the impact of AI, shifting risks in the legal market, or high-profile cases such as the Post Office Horizon scandal, our work is in the spotlight. We do an important job and we are looking for an Editorial and Content Lead to help make sure our communications have the right impact. This role focuses on writing and copyediting content across a range of channels, translating technical and complex policy ideas into plain, accessible English and championing our tone of voice. The successful individual will be able to offer expertise to the wider organisation on best writing practice and the development of writing skills, create engaging, authentic copy and collaborate with colleagues, offering campaign and project support. What we are looking for Excellent creative and written communication skills across a range of communication channels and disciplines, such as corporate reports, webpages, blogs and think pieces and internal communications. The ability to take complex and technical policy ideas and explain them in plain English. Experience in advocating a tone of voice and writing best practice across an organisation through training and development and internal communications. Experience in overseeing projects, campaigns and/or a publications schedule and contributing towards the creative process. Expert and second-to-none proofreading skills and an excellent command of grammar. Useful and additional information There is a full role profile attached to the bottom of this advert on our website. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week and we are happy to talk flexible working. Location We are recruiting for this role in our Birmingham and London offices. You will be based in the office nearest to your location, with the expectation of working one to two days a week in the office and the remainder of the week from home. Occasional travel will be required to the SRA's to our Birmingham office if this is not where the role is based.
