Specialist Occupational Therapist - Rheumatology Outpatients The closing date is 20 November 2025 The Rheumatology Therapy team has an exciting opportunity for a senior Occupational therapist to join the team for a full or part time 12-month Secondment/ Fixed Term contract. The role would be suitable for an Occupational therapist with experience working with rheumatology patients or managing long term conditions in an outpatient setting. The successful candidate will be based in York Hospital working from Archways community centre. This role may also involve working from Malton Community Hospital up to two days a week. The Rheumatology therapy team is made up of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, who work across the areas of Rheumatology. You will have access to a support network, including Rheumatology Medical team, Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead, Advanced Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists, operational leadership team, and professional leadership team. Interviews will take place on Monday, 1st December 2025. Main duties of the job We are committed to investment and development across all four pillars of practice. The role will involve undertaking clinical audits and we encourage the involvement in research. You will also have opportunity to lead on developments within the service and provide supervision and education for Occupational Therapy students. Person Specification Qualifications and Training Degree in Occupational Therapy HCPC Registered Occupational therapist Evidence of specialist post graduate CPD activities Evidence of post graduate training within specialist area Delivery of relevant research projects Experience of training/supporting/supervi sing others (including students) within specialist clinical area Membership of Professional body Experience and Knowledge Experience in a relevant junior role, including the management of a range of conditions, with evidence of additional knowledge acquired through formal and informal clinical supervision Developed / Specialist clinical skills within relevant area Delivery of relevant audit and service improvement.
